A modernization program includes the replacement of generation equipment with a capacity of 100 MW through the installation of a new 400 MW CCGT. The purpose of the project is to increase the efficiency and reliability of the plant through the replacement of ageing or obsolete equipment, to install new capacity and to guarantee the supply of heat to residents of a part of Nizhniy Novgorod. Presently ESE-E is a general designer.
